The Dubai Police Department announced on its Twitter that it will use the recently unveiled Tesla Cybertruck as one of its patrol cars. The announcement came via a tweet yesterday which Elon Musk liked himself. It should be noted that the Dubai Police has an impressive list of patrol cars that include the Lamborgini Aventador, the Porsche 918 and the Bugatti Veyron among others.

On its official twitter, it posted a render of the Cybertruck designed in the official colors of a green pattern with décor that is found on all patrol vehicles in Dubai instead of the stainless steel silver model unveiled by Tesla last Thursday. The caption on the photo suggested that the Dubai Police will start using the truck as early as 2020, though Tesla will not start producing the cars until at least 2021. It is unclear if the Dubai Police has a special arrangement with Tesla.

While speaking to the Arabian Business News about the purchase, Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri said that the Cybertruck will patrol the areas that are popular with tourists including the Burj Al Khalifa, La Mer, Jumeirah Beach, and the Sheikh Muhammed bin Rashad Boulevard among others.
